~April Favourites!~

~April Favourites!~

27/04/11

This month was simple really, i had been obviously using the same products again and again!
I didn't include any nail polishes, because for me that's a whole other post:)

All the products this month:

Lip Products:
  • Hue Lipstick from MAC- I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS! Seriously the best nude colour for my complexion, a total love.
  • Sally Hansen Lip Inflation in Sheer Pink- A real gloopy product but really shiny and glossy, and really nice over a nude colour!
  • Natural Collection Juicy Lips in Toffee Cream- Such a pretty goldy shimmery colour, really nice alone or over hue!
  • "I love.. strawberries & milkshake" Lip Balm- So pretty and pink, it's lovely by itself for a natural look.

 Eye Products:

  • GOSH eyeliner in Black Ink- Again i have mentioned this! It's just so perfect and black, and lasts all day! A total must for me.
  • Rimmer Lash Accelerator, and No7 Intense Volume Mascaras- Perfect combo of the two give me big full lashes, which i always aim to achieve, really nice!
  • MAC eyeshadows in Shroom & All that glitters- Shroom is just perfect alone all over the lid, and all that glitters always give my eyes a sparkle, that make me seem more awake, and gives a subtle definition which i love!
  • MUA eyeshadow in shade 17- This matte taupe colour gives a nice natural look when worn all over the lid alone, and this is the one i wear most days for school.

Face Products:

  • (Obviously) Maybelline super stay foundation- I just did a rave review post on this! So that explains itt.
  • Natural Collection cover up stick in fair 1- really creamy and a great base on the eyes too.
  • Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer- Beautiful job at covering dark circles and spots, really good coverage.
  • Natural Collection blush in Pink Cloud- THE PERFECT COLOUR FOR MY CHEEKS. It's such a pretty natural colour that makes me look really glowy and fresh.

Skin care:

  •  Mud Therapy, Deep Cleansing mud mask- this mask has been really helping my skin even out, and feel softer and better than ever! I've been loving this really thick, green! mask, that just works wonders for my skin!
 Swatches!

I hope you're having a beautiful week!

~Maybelline Super Stay 24h Foundation!~

~Maybelline Super Stay 24h Foundation!~
Rave review timee.

25/04/11

Oh my gosh, i cannot say enough good things about this foundation!
The bottle claims that:
Non-transfer, 24hour makeup, spf19, resists heat & humidity, sweat resistant, flexible all day comfort, oil free!
All of these claims are loading alot of pressure onto this foundation to deliver.

I found that it:
  • lasts all day.
  • was lightweight, and flexible, and did bring all day comfort.
  • I didn't break out from it, so I'm guessing it is oil free.
  • It did seem to resist the heat and humidity, because its been very warm in england lately, that i needed a foundation to stand up against it, and it proved worthy.
  • Also it was sweat resistant.
  • The 24hour tag line, is maybe a bit extreme, certainly 8/10hours, but no way could it last a whole day literally.
  • And it did transfer a little, but not heavily!
Heres a horrible picture of me wearing it!
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
It seriously did even out my skin tone, and gave me a warm glow which meant i didn't have to wear bronzer! (Result!)

Heres the product:

 It retails attt: £8:99
Which I think is a good price for such a lovely foundation!

And heres a quick swatch! Try and spot the foundation ;)
See how it airbrushes my skin?

Anyway i really love this product and had to share!
I hope you are having a lovely bank holiday weekend!

~Nails of the day (again!)~

~Another Nails of the day~

18/04/11

I have been so experimental with my nails lately and today was no different!

I decided on this crazy look!

How i did this AMAZING look?! :

  1. Painted the whole nail with 2 thin coats of the lilac shade. (Best to keep the coats thin so that after all the pink and black, it doesn't get too thick and prone to big chips! )
  2. Then get a cocktail stick and dab on random, smallish ,spots of the pink all over the nail.
  3. Then get a differnt cocktail stick and draw tiny black lines around the spots of pink, do not completely circle them just two lines either side.
  4. Then just do random black splodges over the nail to fill gaps, keeping them soft, no sharp lines!
  5. Then just cover the nail in a clear coat, and VOILA! You are done :)
I am obsessed with this nail look, and can't wait to do this in different colours.
You can do this using any colours: green&blue, gold&silver!
Be creative lovelies!

~Nails of the day~

18/04/11

So i decided to do something a bit more funky because i was simply bored of one tone shades or french tips on my nails.
So i went with Polka dots!

It got a bit messed up but for a quick 5 min job, not bad!
I think it looks pretty and crazy!
The colours i used was:

Pink Flamingo 305, from BarryM.
and French white 103, from Collection 2000.
All found at superdrug/boots:)

All i did was cover the whole nail in pink flamingo and then used a cocktail stick to dot some white onto the nails,to create a funky dotty pattern!
Enjoy :)

Have a lovely Monday!

After, we went to Boots to pick up a few things.

And i took full advantage of the 3 for £5 offer.
And bought one concealer stick (review coming)
& two lipglosses!

I hope you all had a lovely Saturday/Weekend!

~Wishlist #2~

~Wishlist #2~

14/04/11

MAC Quite Cute collection instantly caught my attention this past week,
and one product REALLY caught my eye! The Plush Glass in Fashion Fanatic.
It's a beautiful pink shade, i seriously love it, but i dunno if i can go and get it yett,
bummer! (£16)

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural, i've always wanted to give it a go,
and it seems the perfect powder for my skin..seriously might go pick this
up very soon! (£18.50)

Two eyeshadows that i found i quite liked lately: Twinks and Sketch!
Really pretty shades, that i don't feel i have in my collection yet so would be
lovely new additions! The pan shadows are only £9 too!
Left- Sketch. Right-Twinks.

Last MAC product, the simple paint pot in Bare Study because
i don't have it and this makes me sad. (£13.50)

Next I've been wanting Makeup Forever HD Powder. This seems a
lovely powder, that has been mentioned sooo many times by youtube
gurus. I'd really like to pick this up and put this straight into my foundation routine. ($30)

Last makeup product isss, Too Faced Shadow Insurance (£12) I'd like
to try this because I've recently run out of my urban decay primer potion,
and i want a good replacement and I've heard good things about this!

                                                                       A Few Random Things!

I'd LOOOOVE the Tall White Concealed Placket Grandad Shirt, from
Topshop for £35. It's just gorgeous and makes me soo happy everytime
i look at it! It needs to be mine. The picture doesn't do it justice but
believe me, it's beautiful.

I'm also lusting over the Gold and Cream Wash Oversized Articulated Owl, also from Topshop! It's so pretty and interesting, and i love owls so this
is perfect for me! Would look nice with the shirt above too ;) (£15)

Finally i need new jeans so this isn't really a lust, but i like these jeans
from H&M and they're only £9.99! So these will very shortly be mine :)

And yes, I'm actually finished!
These are my top lust items atm, and I'm sure this will all change next week!
Alsoooooo, I need new makeup storage!?
Any ideas/websites?

~Review of Sleek Cosmetics~

I have accumulated a few Sleek Cosmetics over the last year or so.
So i decided to do a review on the brand, because i have fallen in love!

First 2 products are the Sleek palettes!

I have the Original and Storm.

The Storm, featured left, is actually my favourite. As i am a lover of a natural eye look, this is perfect for me, as it hold more neutral tones! Also i use the two matte browns for my eyebrows.

The next one is the Original, this one is a fair bit brighter, holding bright blues and pinks, and a purple! All fun colours for more vibrant looks. Both Palettes hold a matte black! And both are INCREDIBLY pigmented! I mean completely comparable to MAC, even better in my opinion, as a Sleek palette only costs around £5 for 12 eye-shadows!!

Next is the Sleek Pout Polish In Powder Pink- 942.
This is AMAZING, this is completely comparable to higher end lip conditioners, It's so pigmented and soft, and soothes and softens lips instantly after one application. And it's only like 3/4 pounds! I love this,
and have had it a few months, and use it very often! Also, a slight downside is simply that they only have a few shades, this being one of them, they do come out with new ones occasionally but they are usually limited edition, so go snap them new ones up!

Next is the Blush in Pixie Pink- 936.
This is sooo pigmented it actually scares me LOL, i wore this everyday for about 3 months, and still grab for it occasionally, it costs around 4/5 pounds..but I'm not sure? This blush is stunning and very very high quality, it looks very pretty against my paler skin, and when I'm tanner! A must have in my opinion.

Now this is one product i disliked from what I've gathered. The Sleek, Magnitude Lengthen and Volumise Mascara. The white mascara end just didn't work for me, it dried and then I'd TRY and apply the volumise end, but it would just clump and go sticky and weird. I tried without the white base, and it still clumped and gave me a nasty sticky mess. Also it got EVERYWHERE on my face, and was a real disaster, I'm not sure how much they sell for, as i bought this last summer, but it surely wasn't a must have, it's a must- avoid for me.

And that's it for my sleek review, some real gems in there
along with one not so great product, but i still LOVE this brand BIG TIME.
I love how, everytime i walk past their counter in superdrug they always
have a brand new palette out or a new  tinted lip conditoner colour! And they do
everything you could want, this is just a tiny look into what they sell!

So there will be more reviews on brands coming soon!

Hugs, Danielle xo
